Blackberry & Lemon Cheesecake with Pistachio crust by @addictedtodates ⠀
Recipe⠀
(serves 8-12)⠀
Ingredients:⠀
Base:⠀
- 200g almonds⠀
- 100g pistachios⠀
- 5 medjoul dates⠀
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil⠀
- 2 tbsp almond butter⠀
- 2 tsp matcha powder⠀
- 0.5 tsp vanilla bean paste⠀
Lemon Filling:⠀
- 100g cashews⠀
- Juice of 1 lemon⠀
- 1 tsp lemon extract⠀
- 1/4 cup maple syrup⠀
- 1 tsp vanilla bean powder or paste⠀
- 1/2 can of coconut milk (the hard part from the top)⠀
- 1/2 cup melted coconut butter⠀
- A handful of loose fresh balckberries⠀
Blackberry Filling:⠀
100g cashews⠀
- Juice of 1 lemon⠀
- 1/4 cup maple syrup⠀
- 1 tsp vanilla bean powder or paste⠀
- 1/2 can of coconut milk (the hard part from the top)⠀
- 1/2 cup melted coconut butter⠀
- 1 cup blackberries⠀
- 2 tsp acai powder⠀
Garnish:⠀
- Some ground pistachios⠀
- Some fresh blackberries⠀

Method:⠀
Base:⠀
- In a high speed food processor, blend the almonds and pistachios until finely ground⠀
- Add the remaining ingredients and blend until they form a dough.⠀
- Press the dough evenly into a dish of your choice (baking dish/ cake tin lined with parchment or a sillicone cake mould)- approx 8 X 8"⠀
Lemon filling:⠀
- Combine all your ingredients in your blender and blend until completely smooth and creamy.⠀
- Pour the mixture on top of the base.⠀
- Add some whole fresh blackberries, spread them out unevenly throughout the cheesecake mixture.⠀
- Place the cake into the freezer to set for a minimum of 1/2 an hour.⠀
Blackberry Filling⠀
- Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy.⠀
- Remove the cake from the freezer and pour the blackberry mixture on top.⠀
- Place the cake back in the freezer to set (minimum 2 hours but preferably overnight)⠀
- Once the cake has set completely, remove from the baking dish.⠀
- Carefully turn the cake upside down and cut gently with a very sharp knife (with the crust part facing upwards to prevent crumbling)⠀
- Garnish the slices with pistachios and fresh blackberries.⠀
- Store in the freezer and remove about 1 hour before serving.⠀

Let’s keep this simple. When you want to build muscle you go to the gym and engage in resistance training to recruit Muscle fiber. You then breakdown said fiber via the stress of resistance training and rebuild it via the muscles adaptation response to stress. That’s part one, part two is the most vital part which is nutrition. It requires protein to build muscle, namely the amino acids that protein is comprised of. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins/tissues in essence. As such so long as you’re getting the protein / amino acids need you are able to effectively build muscle. The body does not differentiate between plant and animal protein, it simply utilizes the nutrients as it is supposed to. The fortunate part is you can get an abundance of protein with a complete amino acid profile from plant-based foods.The only difference between animal-based and plant-based protein with a bodybuilding diet is with the plant-based protein you get all of the benefits with none of the negatives such as carcinogens, cholesterol and cruelty. Plant-based nutrition is a win for everyone especially people who are fitness minded. So tell me again how people came to the conclusion that you can’t build muscle on a plant-based diet!? I know this can be kind of a strange topic, but flushing out your waste, completely, can make you feel like a new human being, with increased energy. Chia seeds are one of the best health foods around because they are loaded with electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals, including 18 of the 22 amino acids (all 9 essential amino acids). More importantly, they are another fiber-rich food and add one final knockout punch to the recipe. Just one tablespoon of chia seeds contains 5 grams of fiber.

Healthy Digestion and Energy Boost Recipe:
Ingredients:

2 organic #plums

15 #organic #dates

1 tablespoon organic chia seeds (we recommend this)

1 teaspoon organic ginger powder (we recommend this)

Directions:

Turn the stove to high and heat up five cups of water in a medium-sized pot.

Once the water starts to boil, add the plums and dates.

Let things simmer for ten minutes, and remove from the heat.

Let it sit for an additional 10 minutes before adding the #chiaseeds and #ginger powder.

How to Use:

First thing in the morning when you get out of bed, take 1 tablespoon of the this and let it sit in your belly for 30 minutes before eating breakfast. This should help alleviate all of your digestive issues in addition to #constipation.

Currently craving this bowl of stir-fried sweet chili tofu 🌶 (recipe’s on my website for those who wanna try it!) also, sorry for the lack of new dishes lately. Had just enough time to fit a quick ride in. Still have the cleet issues from last ride - need replacing - so not able to go full on as one shoe in and out all the time and it was very strong winds coming back too. Still it was a decent average considering. Once sort cleets Ill be smashing the 30 kph average- check today's ride stats at @strava

Guys I know my goal with my training sessions was majority because I’m tired of being my current weight, and that I want to drop back down to where I was at. But I know the effort I’ve been putting in with diet isn’t where it should. So far I don’t really give a shit. I’m loving just being able to workout again and feel so amazing. Today honestly I was unapologetically giving no shits about what I look like. I have fat and that shit will go away. It’s almost never that I’d feel comfortable to wear just my tank without my little jacket over it. Today I was burning up and thought eh who gives a fuck. Just remember to be a badass and no one will fuck with out. Ok back to the rest of this workout. Shits about to get real.
