🔥"What The Hell?!" Wednesday🔥 Last week we asked you all to tell us what kind of information you knew about a specific engine that we posted and you blew us away with how much you knew! So here are a few facts that we were able to find out:
➡️It is in fact a Pratt and Whitney R1830 with the name "Twin Row Wasp".
➡️It has 14 cylinders and has 1,830 cubic inches.
➡️It was built to consistently have 1,100-1,200 brake horse power depending on the ocatane rating of petrol being used.
➡️This specific one was built in 1942 but the engines were manufactured from 1932 to 1951 with a grand total of 173,618 engines built in that 19 year timeframe. ➡️It was used in seaplanes, DC3 passenger airlines, and the Catalina Flying Boat.
