Watermelon Cooler~ Refreshing to drink for the summer to help keep you cool, helping to keep pitta dosha in balance. A great source of vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B1, and vitamin B6. It is also a good source of pantothenic acid, copper, biotin, potassium, and magnesium. Enjoy this beverage by itself or 30-60 min prior to eating other foods. Melons don't digest well when mixed with other foods, so enjoy it as a starter or a stand alone snack. Instructions: place all ingredients in a blender- cut up watermelon (4c), 4-6 leaves of basil or mint or lemon balm, few stevia leaves (optional), 1inch price of fresh ginger, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder. How to do: Begin by laying down on your mat. Draw the soles of your feet to the earth. . Allow your toes to face the front of your mat and the outer edges of your feet to be parallel. There should be 6-8 inches of space between the inner edges of your feet. Ground through your feet and lift your hips. Place a block, bolster, or a pillow underneath your lower back and hips. Adjust your prop so that you feel supported. Allow one hand to rest on your heart and one on the lower part of your stomach.

Benefits for Pitta: Supported Bridge stretches and opens the chest and spine, it helps reduce pain in the lower back and hips, it strengthens the parasympathetic nervous system, and it can help relieve stress and mild depression. This posture is great for balancing both Vata and Pitta Dosha. The passiveness of the pose is what makes it so great for Pitta. Pitta is known for having drive and an abundance of energy. Pittas are people who love challenges. They want to do things the fastest and the best. However, this drive can also be the source of their undoing. To stay balanced and keep the fire element in check, it’s important for Pittas to spend some time giving up control.
