I always have the best of luck with book store finds. This gem came to me yesterday and I haven't been able to put it down since.
I'd previously read (and then lost 😭) Hiding the Elephant, the author's previous book about magic in the 1800-1900s. This focuses in on Howard Thurston and so far I love reading the interactions between him and Houdini.
I'm a bit obsessed with the history and evolution of my craft through the ages and this was the PERFECT thing to come to me before a big show
