I am very disheartened to know that one of the greatest and last surviving toy giants is dying. It saddens me really. When I was younger I drew what I didn't have. I'd go to the store and just think about what I'd like and draw it. I was fortunate enough to have many different things however, it was at an early age that I got into gaming and noticed my toys remained untouched for many years. It was not until I started helping out at KB toys that I noticed kids stopped buying toys. Later on, KB was bought out by Toys R Us. With the advent of gaming, online stores and apps kids don't seem to want to play with toys or much of anything. Apps and light up screens draw them in. In my opinion it hampers their creativity and imagination. I am always happy to see kids play and be happy drawing something they themselves came up with. It shows that there minds are working trying to conjure up what's there and bring it to life. Hopefully this is not the last we see of them. If so, Toys R Us will become a thing of the past...like the company Blockbuster.
Meanwhile, it is my hope to create 1/6 and 8 inch action figures/accessories. In truth these are toys or models. To segway from the beginning to what I plan to do, the kid who drew the toys will now design and make them. It has come full circle. To end, I would say alot of what I create is based off of my inner child. (It's why I don't like drawing provocative artwork. I had innocence back then and so with my artwork I preserve it with my creativity. However, if you have been following me for sometime, you'd know I made my following drawing women, fitness personnel and fighters. So it is only in recent date my real work has come to light).
