Last Friday, I had to go to a dermatologist because of the unusual count of my zits (despite my period being over). My derma put me on antibiotics (Doxycycline) and prescribed me this little number. I was stupefied at the hefty price tag that came with this tiny tube (You can ask me directly if you want to know)! I had to hold off buying it for two reasons: 1 - The price is waaay too steep for a gel. 2 - I didn't know much about it and I wanted to know if it's worth every cent.
I did my research and found that this gel has Benzoyl Peroxide, which is common in anti-acne products, and Adapalene, which belongs to a class of medication called retinoids that help decrease swelling and inflammation.
I also read that some users experience "purging" and some don't. This part I found kinda scary because I already have enough pimples as it is and the thought of having more is counterintuitive, don't you think? But since I was on antibiotics, I figured I'd have extra aid in drying the little suckers, so I got it.
I used it last night and I am equally stupefied with its effect! On the box, it says to only apply a thin film. At first I thought, "Is this really working? Why doesn't it sting?" After a few minutes, I checked my face and I kid you not - it pushes your whiteheads out, without any prodding! I also put some on Tee's ear because she had a huge bump.
This morning, I noticed some of my pimples dried up. Tee even said some of them literally just fell off (Gross, I know). Lol. The redness in my big pimples subsided and dried up to 60% - which is totally not bad for first use. Tee's huge pimple also flattened significantly! This product has some serious potential and I cannot wait to see how it works its full magic on my face! I'll update you guys!
