#PowerHouse is your ‚power & control center’ and a complex interaction of fundament & pelvic floor (Diaphragm Pelvis), Diaphragm, lower back (M. Multifidus), cross muscle (Transversus Abdominis) & exterior/interior oblique abdominal muscles.

How to do:
Breathing in & draw navel in direction spine as you like to put your favorite tight jeans on 😉
or draw pelvic floor inside and up - but not too strong!
And finally close orifices of the body softly .

1️⃣ men and women can do Kegels.
2️⃣ both can do all the time. Not just while men exercise and women lie down.
WHAT IS A KEGEL?
3️⃣ It is the contraction of certain muscles which are in your pelvic floor. These are colloquially called “Kegel muscles”
...WHY in G-ds name would you care??? 4️⃣ if you want to stop going teetee (keeping it pure) in your undies...or when you sneeze...or breathe: you’ll do these. ...WHEN?
5️⃣ All day Long. Sorta. For example, I’m doing my now! #yesreally . I do it when I go to the bathroom. I do it when I tell people to do it. Yep, again now :)
...HOW?
6️⃣ when you are going teetee (i giggle every time I say that word!). Literally, stop mid-teetee (giggle). Count to 10 and go again. Practice. Practice. Practice. ...AGAIN WHY??
7️⃣So you don’t have someone telling you to have surgery...OR
▶️Women: after babies or getting older our floors drop. ▶️MEN: you also lose bladder control. Oh! No one told yu: yep.
WHAT’S THE OUTCOME?
▶️IMPROVED SEXUAL PERFORMANCE (got your attn eh?) 👊totally true tho. Yes! Really! ▶️COULD STAVE OFF SURGERY: If you PRACTICE. Just like eating well, exercising and maintaining perfect posture- All day. Every day. ▶️BRINGS AWARENESS TO “lower abs”. They aren’t directly connected but the brain will in fact, feel more down there the stronger your kegels get. #truth ▶️ STRONGER LOWER BACK: by way of yur stronger abs. And so it goes up the kinetic chain (look it up)

Some of you know I'm a comedy writer who happens to also teach Pilates. I know tons of people on Fallon, Colbert, SNL, Funny or Die, MTV.... but one of the best #comedy writers I know just teaches yoga. Her name is Liz Wexler and she goes by @sassletic. We took this shot together in Fire Island and she came up with the best caption ever: FRIED FISH. (Because we're tanning in the sun and this is Fish Pose). PEC STRETCH / MID-LOW RHOMBOID ACTIVATION

A simple, straight-fwd little exercise to help balance the hours we spend hunched over electronic devices/ driving, or... hunched over people while teaching Pilates 😉 ☑️ Bend the arms into a tight W like position. Elbows pressing against sides of body
☑️ Press the hands back and the elbows fwd - externally rotating the arm bone in the shoulder joint
☑️ Open across collar bones and chest as you take the arms behind you
☑️ Squeeze shoulder blades down the back and towards each other
☑️ Deep, slow breath IN to help open the front of the chest
✅ Try to do this a couple of times every hour and watch the difference in how you feel throughout the day 😃
