#TheForeigner is the action thriller directed by #MartinCampell (Casino Royale 007, Edge of Darkness), and stars #PierceBrosnan (Goldeneye 007) and #JackieChan (Police Story). This film is about restaurant owner named Quan (Chan), whose daughter is killed in a horrific terrorist bombing, and is consumed by grief, he turns to British government official, Liam Hennessy (Brosnan), to find answers. This film was a lot better than I was expecting, and features Jackie Chan returning to live action American cinema, and gives the best acting performance of his career, and also still proves to be the best at action acting. It amazes me at how he’s still in great shape at the age of 63, and can still do his own stunts, although you can tell he can’t do the more extreme stunts of the film, he still does most of his own stunts, and you can see it. Jackie Chan has always been known for his stunt work and fighting skills, but over time he has become better and better at acting, and his performance here is his best yet, you really feel for his loss in the film, and has one heart wrenching scene in the film, and he was great, in an out of character performance. Pierce Brosnan as well was in a role he doesn’t normally perform in, and he was really great. This movie marks the reunion of he and director Martin Campbell, who directed “Goldeneye 007” in 1995, and they have made yet another compelling action film. So in the end, this is a solid film, that has good direction, an engaging score by #CliffMartinez (Drive), sleek cinematography, with more political scenes than action scenes than expected, but these scenes were intriguing. The action is top notch, and Jackie Chan is still fantastic at performing fight scenes, while also giving a compelling performance.
