You guys already know how much we love monster walks.❤️👹🚶‍♂️
At Precision Care we are pretty glute centric.🍑🍑🍑
*
📚The gluteus muscle group ( consisting of Gluteus Maximus, Minimum and Medius) are supper important for stabilizing your legs during all activity.🏋️‍♀️⛹️‍♂️🏂🏌️‍♂️🤾‍♀️🏄‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️
*
🔑It’s important to strengthen these muscles no matter which sport you play as well as when recovering from any lower extremity injury.
*
☝️This variation of a monster walk is done with a long resistance band by stepping into it and crossing it over to hold with your arms. This automatically engages your core as well as upper body stabilizers.
*
❌This patient is a boxer 🥊 recovering from an ACL reconstruction. We focus on a sport specific treatment when rehabbing our athletes. Giving her a upper body, core and glute workout all in one shot‼️

We L❤️ve our smart phones📱, our necks do not.📴
🗣
🗣
This is simple illustration of the stress you place on your spine when you use your phone with poor posture. 🙇🏻‍♂️
*
*
📚We call this FHP(Forward Head Posture). It’s when you flex (bend) your neck to look 👀 down, anterior glide (protrude forward ) and extend( 👀look up) all at the same time. 🔑The cervical spine hates this type of position.
🚫This can lead to pain, weak postural muscles and deformities in the spine over a prolonged period of time.
*
*
There is a simple fix. Roll your shoulders back, pull the crown 👑 of your head up, engage your upper abs, bend your elbows and bring your hands(phone) 🤲📱at chin level.🙅🏻‍♂️

This patient sustained a strain in the quad.(knee muscle) We are using our local Cryo❄️ which blows out compressed Nitrogen at -132 C.
❄️This fast and instant cooling allows us to stop inflammation and prevent acute swelling.
Getting a head start on the healing and recovery process.
❄️
❄️
Once the inflammation subsides, we continue with sport specific exercise to strengthen and stabilize the knee joint.🏋️‍♀️
We use the most advanced equipment with individualized treatments to return our patients to the activity they love. ❤️

This patient is performing a dead bug. 🐞This exercise is for hip and core stability. In this particular case we are rehabbing a hip labrum tear with a surgical repair.👨🏻‍⚕️
🔑
🔑 📚The left side is the involved hip as the patient is bracing the ball 🏐and keeping constant contact.
The right arm is doing the same. This is called an isometric muscle contraction.📉
While the opposite sides are making contact and letting go. This is a dynamic movement of the muscle groups. This is called an isotonic contraction.📈
😀
😀 👍This is a safe and simple way to stabilize your core and bring strength and mobility to your hips. 💪🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️

The patient is performing ER(external rotation) with a resistance band. 🥊
.
.
This is one of the best exercises for rotator cuff strength and stability. 📚
.
.
Using a band is the better way to perform this exercise as opposed to using a dumbbell.
With a dumbbell or free weigh 🏋️‍♀️ you are met with gravity 🌎🌍🌏 as a resistance and you start to recruit your biceps💪 instead of the rotator cuff muscles.
.
.
🔑 Using resistance bands will load the rotator cuff and eliminate any gravitational resistance.📍
.
.
Make sure you keep your shoulder at 90 degrees 📐and your wrist neutral.🤜
.
.
Details matter to us. Keep focused and perform the exercise correctly.🔑

As you can tell, we’re crazy about monster walks. This exercise is ideal for strengthening and stabilizing the glutes while at the same time strengthening the quads.
💥
💥
Glutes stability and strength carries over into every sport and activity. It’s essential for the athletes to focus on glute activation. Over-relying on your quads during sport activity can add stress on the knees, risking injury.
Great for injury prevention even better strong healthy legs.

The patient developed hip tightness after sustaining a back injury. In this video the patient is working on strengthening the hip flexors to build a stronger and stable core and relieve tightness in the hip flexors.
💥
💥
Due to a weak core the muscles tighten up as the body’s natural reaction to stabilize the trunk. Building up the core and hip strength will allow for the muscles to relax and go back to performing their optimal function.

📍Why is surface anatomy important for Physical Therapist?
⠀Mainly because surface anatomy gives PT an understanding of where the particular organ or structure lies so that he/she can examine clinically at the surface.
📍Why is surface anatomy important for you ?
⠀Surface Anatomy is a very important part of the medical examination. It studies anatomical landmarks and anatomical deviations in non-invasive manner . Client doesn’t have to subject him/herself to X-Ray radiation or any other potentially risk full means of diagnostic.
⠀💜Thank you my wonderful classmate @tomken89 for providing your upper body for the great purpose of Learning.

Dr.Vanessa Volmar-Virobyan PT, DPT demonstrates an Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Technique for the treatment of Edema following ACL Surgery. .
.
By applying deep pressure to the tissue it allows Dr.Vanessa Volmar-Virobyan PT, DPT to manually push the fluid out of the area of swelling more proximal and close to the lymphatic vessels allowing the lymphs to do their intended work. .
.
Although we’ve had great results applying this technique for the treatment of our patients, it is most effective in combination with other techniques such as taping, cupping for decompression, and electrical stimulation using hi-volt etc.
