This is my long term student @iamtristanwright 😀 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My task as a teacher is, and continues to be, making T see what training at what time is appropriate for him to cultivate. We have worked through long term injuries, an MMA fight and a number of new skills and movements 🤼🤸🤹
👉 When we trained on Wednesday we had an insightful conversation in regards to managing the volume of stress put on the body. T is constantly moving and can't help himself to squeeze in extra training on top of the marital arts and strength & mobility program he's got. This sometimes result in pains, aches and discomfort. Now, the thing is, it is not necessarily due to severe tissue damage, in many cases it's due to increased sensitivity from too much stress ⚠️
👉 Imagine that your body is a bucket and you keep filling that bucket with different types of stressors (good or bad); strength training, martial arts, a bad relationship or two, long hours at work, you have 3 social events each week up til Christmas, your dog is sick and suddenly the bucket is overflowing- the body can't digest it all .
👉 On Wednesday we did these and a few other stretches shown in the pictures, because the bucket is overflowing and something needs to go.
Keep moving, but not too much...
