My 23 kg home.
Maintaining links with people when you live out of a 23 kg suitcase is not always easy.
We travel often and we are not always present for others. The disparity of conversations can make their content superficial, even nonexistent. I can meet countless people, but the ones who keep in touch nevertheless, could be counted on the fingers of one hand.
I remember the time when we were expecting postcards from friends, family, we had pen pals… we could have waited days, weeks, months… Now, if you dare to read a message without answering within an hour, you are facing an enormous condemnation of friendship. The immediacy is a murderer of human relations.
When I was a kid without mobile phone ( yes, this time has existed), I was giving appointments to friends at a specific time. Everyone was on time or waiting for the others patiently. Now being late feeling less guilty is as simple as a text. I am the first one who use this subterfuge. During these moments of nostalgia, I still wonder what I was doing at Starbuck before, while I was taking a sip of coffee without fiddling a phone. Great Mystery!
I remained silent for the past weeks. In fact, my life has paced up, new opportunities are knocking at my door and I travelled across 3 continents : Asia, Europe, and America. It was extraordinary and I am honoured to have experienced it at least once in my life and I am thanking each one who believed & supported me.
For now, I will live for the next few months, between several countries. I'll do my best to share and catch up this crazy life with you. But please, don’t blame me if I don’t post it within the hour. 😜
