Just got done killing a leg workout and working on some new goals. Hired myself a coach, because I need help! And that’s okay to admit! I’m not perfect, I fell off the wagon a bit and now I’m hopping right back on! After letting some life stress get the best of me, I decided I needed to make a change. Life is full of ups and downs, but it’s how you bounce back from them that matters! ..

Damn I’ve been MIA from IG for a while. And not for the same reason as usual...because I am a slacker. NO not this time!🤗 Because I have been busy AF. I forgot how much of a challenge being a working single parent is! Throw in online classes, workout attempts, coordinating after school pick ups, dealing with tired & cranky elementary schoolers, running a household, AND car troubles...I am dead by dark. But I don’t get to stop then. I am go go go from 5:40-11 most days, already ready for a break and I’m only 3 weeks in!
But the good news here is that I finally feel like I’ve got my shit together with this #weightlossjourney! I have lost 13lbs & 10 inches since recommitting to the #mytransphormationstartstodaychallenge 40 days ago. I may complain about a lot these days, but that makes it all worth it 💪🏻🍑🖤

Monday run day and the importance of post workout! 👟👟

So, we started the week with almost a 5 and a half mile run and I'm excited to say...I didn't die and my lungs felt great! However, for as good as I felt after..I KNOW that proper post workout nutrition is CRUCIAL for recovery and getting the most out of my workouts. .
.
Why is that? Won't any food source after a workout do the trick? NO!! It absolutely will not. Here's why. .
.
When you do resistance training, HIIT, or long distance cardio, your body burns glycogen (sugar in the muscles). This causes them to fatigue and if you don't replace the carbs and sugar your body loses, it won't be able to recover your muscles optimally. Why is this so important? Because all of your hard work will be for nothing and you won't be able to get back in the game as quickly!! .

Got back into the gym this morning with a really good Chest/Shoulder/Tricep workout. Mixed up the sets a bit so it wasn't all of one muscle group then the next, but a little back and forth between all 3.
Finished off with a great upper body pump and then 15 minutes of HIIT cardio. This was first workout of the day, will be back later this evening for a light weight workout hitting the same muscles. Looking to make some serious gainz the next 5 weeks!

Heres a quick little workout I did, before it got to busy. This is a tiny gym at work.
Back may be my favorite body part to work out, next to legs.

Some bad angles but you get the drift. Get good extensions to open the back up and stretch at the end.
Going heavy is great but handle the weight so you dont hurt yourself.

That's it I finally did it! I completed my trifecta! This sprint was on the the hardest @spartanrace has ever done. This weekend I climbed from 9500ft to 14000ft and came out a full spartan. Every single hour of training and perseverance has got me here. Fueled my a drive that will not stop and @1stphorm keeping me healthy. This is an accomplishment I'll carry forever.
