"It's hard to move forward when its pitch black and our eyes are closed if we don't know we're safe or there's a path. We think we must see a path In order to move, but sometimes we have to move before the path can be seen. And sometimes there is no path but the one behind us. And It's hard not to be scared of falling or running into a tree, or off a cliff, when we don't know what lies ahead. But we must be willing to risk that in order to get where we want to be. And until we either don't care, or we're 100% sure we will be fine whether the risk pays off or not, we'll either be too afraid to move, or we'll convince ourselves it's the wrong choice. Why? To be safe. Cause we don't know. We aren't sure.
When there is no path but the one we make, we can only be sure of one thing— our ability to make it. We think we must know the path first, but that is a lie. We can and eventually will doubt anything and everything we have not witnessed or endured first hand. We have to believe in ourselves before we believe in anything we see. Think about it: how can you trust what you even know if you always doubt it the moment you are tested? Yeah it's nice when you can see where you're going. But it's even nicer to know you don't have to see anything in order to know you can make it." #mondaymotivation #philsosophy
