Super surprised at myself for this one!!! Another steady state run where I went out too fast and then thought “oh crap!!! Well, I gotta keep it steady now!!” I was so nervous about hitting my paces because my legs feel like they are still heavy. Between marathon training, family, full time job, and starting my clinical work for my BSN capstone yesterday, I am totally overwhelmed at times, however, gotta keep my eye on the big picture! #run4prsathlete #teamrun4prs #eriemarathon #philadelphiamarathon #marinecorpsmarathon

3 easy miles @ 10:16 on tired legs (hello high knees and mountain climbers 😳). I’m super excited about @brian.runs.philly’s training plan because the mileage and pace varies everyday, virtually rut proof!

Another 12 miles in the books for this week's #marathontraining run! Totally worth getting soaked in a thunder storm and so much more pleasant than last week. My #garmin watch conked out on me in the middle of my run so I don't have stats to post, but i just ordered a new runni ng watch yesterday for #primeday so I'm excited to try it out (I got the #amazfitbip ).

So fkn sweaty and it feels so good!! 8 mile fartlek in the books. Before I went to San Francisco I was in a little bit of a funk, but ever since I went there and had one of those amazing long runs that reawakened my joy for running, I have been absolutely LOVING this training cycle and the journey to fall marathons.

Thunderstorms in the forecast meant Treadmill Tuesday for me (see what I did there?🤓). I FINALLY had a chance to listen to the @rambling_runner podcast for the first time in forever, and his funny running stories version 2 had me in stitches. @cmomrunfast wins the prize, OMG. Between my sweat, my snorting, and my sports bra, I’m sure the septuagenarians on the bikes behind me wondered what the hell was going on today.

6 easy miles on still heavy legs! So today’s recovery run podcast session with @rambling_runner got me a little anxious. There was mention of the weather in Erie and how the lake effects can make it pretty rainy and windy and with the #eriemarathon being about 2 months out, all I could think was “oh, crap!!”😭. I was more worried about how hot it still would be the beginning of September, not so much battling the wind!!! Oh well...my mindset going in is just give it all I got. I’ve already surpassed my goals by getting the BQ in April and have enough buffer that I SHOULD get to Boston, but always looking for that bigger buffer! Either way, going from having surgery in November to BQing in April is huge in my book!🏃‍♀️ #run4prsathlete #teamrun4prs #eriemarathon #marinecorpsmarathon #philadelphiamarathon #runnersofinstagram

Week One. Day One.
Philadelphia Marathon training officially begins today.
I’m not sure if it’s been obvious by my base building paces, but my A Goal is to go sub 4 hours. I know this is a huge goal. Am I scared of it? For sure. Am I scared to put it out in the open like this? Abso-freakin-lutely.
But I can do this. My 4:56 was an extremely comfortable pace, I got faster post-marathon in leaps and bounds, and I know how to work hard to achieve my goals. Clearly I’m not one for developing a Step By Step plan of action, but I know I’m already on a good path. Let’s see where the next 124 days take me.
And thank you to @brian.runs.philly for making an amazing training plan!! So excited that we’ve finally started the journey!
Somewhat ironically, training kicked off with strength, not running. Tonight was 30 minutes to strength HIIT, and DAMN. Apparently it’s been a while since I did a HIIT workout. 💦

That sky though. 🌅 5 EZ, peaceful sunset miles to finish out my day. 7:55 avg. pace.

I LOVE dogs. 🐶 Big dogs, small dogs, old dogs, young dogs. HOWEVER, as much as I love dogs, I do NOT love having 1 dog, let alone 2, charge at me while I am out running. Part of being a good pet parent is not setting your dog up for a potential disaster, keep your dog on a leash, even for their own safety. Also, if you’re not going to observe your local leash laws, do NOT blame others by saying something like “it’s because you’re running” when your dog chases after someone. 🙄

I may be on vacation BUT...@philly_marathon training starts now! See ya in 18 weeks for ya girl’s first marathon. Thanks to @lizcoda for building me an awesome training plan. Let’s do this! 🏃🏻‍♀️#philadelphiamarathon #philadelphiarunner
