It wasn't a smooth journey, it required dedication, commitment and determination. My goal was to create a new department , a new path less followed by medical doctors. Stepping into the research world was tougher than attaining my medical degree (I swear). It's a whole different world and it never ends! I started my journey after my marriage. There came three children at the end of 6years journey. Started off with my masters, I was then offered to convert to PhD.I had no official confinement leave, I didn't take breaks, I was also juggling managing Harith Iskander Productions. I refused to take a loan, but I worked hard to finance myself through my whole PhD journey and NO I didn't expect 'pocket money' from my hubby (though he insisted!).For me,my PhD journey was about creating relationships, the people that helped me along the way made it easier- from the security guards at PPUKM- they help get me parking spots esp during my pregnancy, the cleaners, the nurses,my precious team mates, suppliers, and of course my supervisors!! Hubby @harithiskander @stephaniekuan
@yunnieee @antonlim01 @foofoo328 ,my parents for putting up with me.
I'm a working mother. Today, its beautiful to have all three doctoral kids in my arms
..sorry 4! And it is possible to have it ALL - with proper scheduling, disipline and always focus on your strength and NOT your weakness.
My parents have always taught me to be independent, I wasn't given a silverspoon, instead they encouraged me to earn my living. My new chapter as an Entrepreneur has just begun. If I can do it, anyone else can! Stop pleasing people. It's your life, dare to be different, do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. 😀 #mummyof3 #phdlife #phdmummy
