#tbt After 5 years in prison, I was focused on changing my life. I wanted to be in front of the camera not behind the wall. Immediately following my release I took a small job working in a bean pie factory. Shortly after I was fortunate enough to be hired at @unclerush #phatfarm, where I started off in the warehouse and worked my way up to store manger. Following that success, I decided go back to school and chase my life long dream of becoming an actor. I enrolled at New York Universities liberal arts program. I was truly inspired. I would pick up #backstage newspapers "the actors guide into the industry" I'd go on cold readings, auditions etc.. I booked my first music video.. "Da Brat" shot in Harlem s/o to director @dave_meyers and at that time 1stAD @bennyboom that was 19 years ago!! My goal was to prove that I was layered with natural talent and had something to offer. Some ppl would only see my outer shell, I quickly adjusted and used my tough looking exterior to get in! This was all a part of the plan. I figured once I'm in, I could prove that there was much more to me than what hovered over the surface! Everyday I'm working to get better, It's not an overnight success nor am I claiming total victory, but this story is a reminder of the less glamorous long walk and to anyone who's been incarcerated knocked down kicked back or just simply rejected, believe in yourself because no one but YOU can knock your hustle! This is the true story of a #hustlersambition ..
