Here we have the stroke of @tigerwoods today during his Pro-Am. Why is Tiger such a good putter?? It's NOT a secret, if you watch footage of his stroke throughout ALL of his golf years you'll notice some commonalities. Through his whole life he has had the same FUNDAMENTALS, with just the style of stroke varying slightly. This is why in my opinion he has always made the clutch putt when needed. He has worked on the same core fundamentals his whole life and knows HIS stroke better than anyone. You hear me talk all the time about having a fundamentally sound stroke, why does it matter?? Stroke isn't everything in putting, but having a solid stroke helps under pressure. A stroke that is built on fundamentals is easier to control and WAY easier to fix when things get off. The reason for that is generally when things get off on a fundamentally sound stroke the cause of what is going on is the same and that is KEY! Knowing what to work on and what not to work on is HUGE in all areas of the game and putting is no different. Having these core fundamentals down allows you to go through a checklist to see where things may have gone wrong. That is why the best putters of all time RARELY go through long phases of poor putting, they figure it out FAST because they know what is going on. Want to be a consistent putter forever?? Knowing and having the proper foundation of fundamentals your stroke is CRITICAL!!
