Even when we do have those rare moments to do so, it is excruciatingly difficult to justify, release, and get that beneficial brain-body restoration in.
Neuroscience has discovered sets of scattered brain regions that fire in a synchronized way when we switch to a state of mental rest, such as daydreaming, meditation, or quasi-napping. These “resting-state networks” help us process our experience, consolidate memories, reinforce learning, regulate our attention and emotions, keep us productive and effective in our work and judgment, and more. If you do find yourself blessed with an opportune window for a nap, meditation, or shut eyed sabbatical....set the tasks and guilt to the side and try your best to let go. 🙏🏼
