Often multiple allergens are involved making treatment and management difficult!
Strict parasite control, supplementation of the diet with essential fatty acids, elimination of dietary allergens, and regular baths in medicated shampoos and conditioners are all essential aspects of management.
Most pets also require something stronger to help manage their itch, often needing daily treatment to keep them comfortable. Historically corticosteroids were the main drug of choice, as the effect of anti histamines are often minimal for our four legged friends.
We are very lucky now that there is a steroid FREE treatment option for these dogs which is literally changing the lives of affected pets. With minimal side effects and an excellent safety profile we have been blown away by the response to it.
