Perth was a blast! I met some wonderful people including Jane from @bebeboldau 😊 I spoilt myself at her gorgeous stand gathering up many Sashiko + Boro inspired projects to take with me on my trip to Portugal. 💙 Given that I love working sustainably with remnant fabrics I think Boro is perfect for @thesewloist. ♻️ The 1st pic is a lay plan for the BeBe Bold Zippi Purse - utilising some lovely Japanese cotton scraps! I’ll soon be basting them onto a Muslin backing + then doing some stitch work. ✨ The 2nd pic is my 1st ever attempt at Sashiko embroidery! Called ‘Amimon’ (fishing nets) this was truly addictive and I’m looking forward to trying more complex designs. ✨ And 3rd pic, I bought some small lengths of traditional tsumugi stripes (woven on wooden looms + only 36cm wide!) I envision some VERY special Sashiko embroidered Bralette’s. ✂️ I kept a concise colour palette for these, anticipating some beautiful Boro projects to follow with the scraps! 😍 Jane has a wealth of knowledge + experience with an incredible eye for quality + detail. I hope to participate in one of her workshops soon! Check out her website - BeBe Bold - there are so many great projects on there ✨ Somehow I’ll have to resist making all my projects now + save them for when I fly out on Saturday! #japaneseboro#sashikostitching#travelproject#bebebold#perthcraftandquiltfair#contemporaryjapanese#slowstitching#thesewloist

It’s the last day of the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair, I won’t be running anywhere, my feet don’t belong to my body anymore, but please come past grab some fabric, so I don’t have to drag it all home. Help a gal out! 🤪🤪🤪#perthcraftandquiltfair
A Boro inspired brooch. My Make & Take from the Perth Craft & Quilt Fair yesterday. Not my finest work but pots of fun and a far better way to really get into the Fair! There are several workshop options. It has got me thinking already about how I can use the techniques I learned to great effect so it was also well worth it.
Them post #perthcraftandquiltfair feels 😴 had a lovely time with my Aunty and this little one today. I enjoyed all the bits and bobs but was a little sad when I couldn’t buy the fabrics I liked by the metre, oh well... I did buy myself a little led lamp 🔦
