STORYTIMEEEE (TLDR AT THE END)
I made this costume of Peri from Fire Emblem to AX 2016. As usual, I made everything from scratch and put tons of work into this costume, lots of tears and blood. I still have never cried so much over making a costume. To this day its my least favorite costume, and the one I want to just forget about. Specifically, it was my first time with worbla so not only was all of the armor a nightmare to wear, super sweaty, breaking apart at the con, but I felt constantly self conscious over this chestplate that makes me look like a rejected can of ravioli, and felt like every Peri cosplayer there showed me up hard. My poses were cringey, and I completely didnt even know what Peri's legs look like since I only was working with her portrait and a few pieces of fan art.
Every single cosplayer and artist has this type of project, where despite so much, as the artist we feel just so bad about out work, and that's okay! Its okay to not be proud of everything. What matters is that we keep going; Each costume, drawing, project or whatever is one step closer to being better, and any skill gets better with each attempt. After deathwing, I feel much better in my armor making skills and now look forward to the next project being even better! Dont ever give up if is something you really love, and dont be afraid of making mistakes ❤️👏🏻
TLDR: We all make stuff that sucks, my example is my Peri costume. Pushing forward and continuing to learn is the important part, and we are all capable of cool stuff! 📸: @rokusancosplay
