What happens to all the waste after a beach clean?
Last week our team and some helpful fishermen managed to clean up Pulau Rawa beach quite a bit.
But once we've collected the bottles, rubbish and piles of nets how do you remove it from an island. *** We took our bottles and rubbish by boat to our HQ for processing. *** There is a local recycling plant in Kuala Besut. Here the bottles need to be free from oil, dirt and sand to be accepted.
We spent the day cleaning, removing labels and crushing bottles. Once processed @seavoicedivers helped us get them sent to mainland. ♻️ Thank you! 😀 ** Our ghostnets collected from the beach were reported to our local marine authority who were able to collect them from the small island and take them to be disposed off safety. They even sent us a picture of them been collected.
Alot of people are involved in each clean up so thank you everyone for your hard work and dedication to the environment. 🎆🎉🎆🎉🎆🎉👍😁
