How would it feel to pause? How would it feel to be expansive and spacious? How would it feel to embrace self compassion?

To gain strength in our struggles, we must first be willing—we must be willing to experience the struggle and sit with the discomfort that accompanies it.


This past week has strange. I’ve noticed a mix of emotions and feelings, which is not entirely surprising. The beginning of a new academic term always requires a bit of adjusting to a new routine, and I’m returning to teaching after a semester-long sabbatical. I turned 37 on Wednesday and knowingly indulged in some birthday treats that didn’t really agree with me. I also saw the results of blood work, and I’m now left to decide how to proceed in order to treat my amenorrhea...so yea, it’s been a week. My thoughts are scattered, I feel uncertain, but I know this will pass. —

Despite the mental chaos, my physical training has been strong this week, and I’ve noted improvements across ALL movement patterns. I’ve also noted a significant decrease in the “clunkiness” I had felt in my shoulders and scapula 3 weeks ago. I consider that a BIG win!! 🙃💪🏻😊🙌🏻

Have you ever felt like a hamster on a wheel, furiously churning your way through life but somehow going nowhere?

Maybe you find yourself caught in a constant loop of internal chatter and judgement, a little voice telling you’re lazy, stupid or not good enough. Worse yet, it’s not you, it’s everyone else and everything else and you feel powerless to do anything about it!
.
You stop noticing the degree to which you believe it or are drained by it, and you just go along with your day working to overcome the stress and strain, trying to live your life and at various points facing the resignation that if you can’t get your ass off this damned wheel maybe you are never going to get to where you want in life—maybe that happiness you’re after or that weight you want to lose or that career or relationship you crave will remain just out of reach.

Here’s just two simple phrases we can practice to move us from talking or dreaming about the life we what to actually having the life and results we want - easier said then done, I get it.

However, sometimes we’re more addicted to the drama and complexity then we are to actually being at risk and taking action (incase we fail and it doesn’t work out).
.
What have you got to lose. Really. Give it an honest go and see what transforms: “I can. I will”. End of story! .
