โœ…When people come see me for low back or hip pain from a lifting injury, this is one of the first screens I do.

Today was an extremely proud day for myself as coach and for the DGC Tweed Coast Multisport crew.
We are a small but tight knit crew who work hard at what we do but also enjoy the hell out of our sport. Friendship and support plays a huge part in our adventures and we pride ourselves on the results we acheive.
Today 10 of the crew took on the Queensland Duathlon Championships. 10 starters, 10 podiums. 4 State Champions. 4 x 2nd place. 2 x 3rd place. 8 of these athletes are currently under training load as part of their World Champs campaign and are a work in progress but still produced outstanding results.

Namaste to single mom summer camp. #overallhealth is at a 8, 8.5 if I go play more golden tee tonight. Highlights- golf in beautiful locations, swimming everyday, batting cages, new friends, old friends, tennis, best goddamned salmon sashimi ever and of course ping-pong. Lowlights-divorce burnout, work stress, extrovert binges, and forgetting to eat. I really thought I would get through this process and not highlight it much on social media but it is so unfair to pretend like Iโ€™m just experiencing a regular year of stress and chaos. I welcome any questions or calls for support. Want to decrease the likelihood of you getting injured whilst playing sport? If yes, then strength training is the answer!

This infographic states that they found no benefit from stretching, in regards to preventing injuries! Whereas they found that the likelihood of injury dramatically decreased for those who participated in strength training! This doesnโ€™t mean that stretching/mobility work is pointless, it just means that stretching alone is not enough to have any significant impact on decreasing the likelihood of you getting injured!

We are far to reactive in Australia, meaning that most athletes wait until they get injured before they begin to participate in any form of strength training! My advice is to get on the front foot and take a preventative approach, commence strength training ASAP to decrease the likelihood of injury, as opposed to waiting until youโ€™re injured!

The number 1 goal of any good strength training program is always to decrease the likelihood of injury! Performance enhancement is number 2! Keeping the athlete on the field is what itโ€™s all about! It doesnโ€™t matter how much better they get in the gym, if theyโ€™re injured all the time it counts for nothing! Injury prevention is the game ๐Ÿ‘Œ Strength training is injury prevention training!!!

I don't know when I learned this virtue, or when I decided that it was one of the most important qualities in a person. But over the years I have found that showing up is truely everything. And showing up doesn't mean that you don't take care of yourself and that you are available 100% of the time. It means that when the people in your life need you the most, you figure out a way to be there for them.

Being there for someone can take a lot of different forms. It can mean giving them space, bringing them dinner, hiring a cleaning crew, or even just not asking anything of them for a little while.
