The coffee shops and food courts in SG should just stop selling Penang hawker fare. Their versions of popular Penang street food such as assam laksa, char kuay teow and prawn noodles don't even look like what we've seen in Malaysia, much less taste like them. That's the unanimous verdict of my lunchmates and I after our meal at 'Malaysia Chiak', and we're not even connoiseurs or salaried food critics.🙄🤭😬 If they can't even con...er, convince us, try selling their versions of Penang fare to the real Malaysians studying or working in SG.
