A little experiment for breakfast this morning. 👌👌

I can’t believe I ever thought the tanner I was, the thinner I’d look. 🙄 FALSE! Dedication, hard work, a good diet, and my superfood shake that is my multivitamin is what MADE ME THINNER! I was so desperate to be thinner that I’d do everything BUT workout and eat right to achieve that look. So glad I grasps that concept before I did some serious damage to my skin! No more tanning beds or laying the sun with baby oil on my skin. Simply use an at home tanning moose that works just fine! .

I just want to sincerely thank you all for your kind words and support of my post yesterday! It’s my fitaversary! One year ago today, I decided to commit myself to changing my life for the better. It’s been a long, winding road with twists & turns and ups & downs, but I’ve made a lot of progress. I’ve lost 42 pounds and the way that I see myself has changed drastically. Things have gotten tough lately, and I still have a little ways to go, but I’m still so proud of the progress that I’ve made. ❤️

Do not know what my issue is but wowza i am exhausted and bags for days after two nights of tossing and turning... Maybe it is just that week in September that i dread each year... My Dad Week....
It never gets easier.... even after 12 years.. Today I tried something different for breakfast and it was really good! These are egg muffins!

I cooked up some sausage, then sauted it with some bacon bits and diced up turkey. Then I whisked up 6 eggs, added a bit of heavy cream, added the meats, then poured it into a muffin tin. Lastly I put some Brie on top of each muffin then baked them at 350 for about 15 minutes. And boom! Breakfast!

This made exactly 6 muffins, I ate 2 and I am super full! .

Fun fact about me: I was a preliminary champion Irish step dancer for 8 years! ☘️ In Irish step dancing you always have to have your toes pointed and your feet turned out! It was leg day yesterday and on my 21 day program I got to try a workout inspired by dance!! 💃🏻 It was so fun to bring back some of my old moves. I love being able to workout from home with access to HUNDREDS of different workouts to choose from! Everything from dance, yoga, pilates or even weight lifting! 💪🏻 Here’s my favorite exercise from the day! Where are all my dancers out there?!

Weight loss requires following a plan that will get the body to - well - lose weight!⠀

BUT the same strategies that you use to LOSE the weight, are not the same strategies you should be using to maintain the weight.⠀

Sure, in order to maintain your results, you need to keep up with a healthy lifestyle (eating lots of nutrient dense foods, paying attention to portions, working out, educating yourself on food ingredients etc).⠀

BUT keeping up with the same calorie deficit and cardio routine you used to LOSE the weight - is NOT the best strategy to maintain the weight.⠀

You see - when we diet down, our hormones down regulate (i.e. hormones that control metabolism), and our body adapts to the amount of exercise that we do. Better said - if you do not take the time to bring yourself out of a calorie deficit and reduce cardio, your body will get used to it - you will be doing the SAME amount of work to maintain your results - and overtime this can lead to a host of issues that may compromise your wellbeing AND your results.⠀

One of the most SHOCKING things my clients hear is that their maintenance calories are typically much higher than they thought. As an example, generally the number of calories needed for women to maintain weight are 1800-2000+ (YUP!). This of course will depend on YOUR body, lifestyle etc - but if you think your 1200 calorie diet is a realistic long term, weight MAINTENANCE strategy - think again !!! And enjoy the damn food ;) !⠀

•Of course pages that are focused on health/fitness/weight loss are going to have lots of before and after pics. It’s all about keeping a visual journal of our progress and sharing that within our community for support and to inspire. Also, sometimes people need to see those pics for themselves b/c our minds are still catching up to our bodies and we struggle with seeing how we really look now. So nahhhh, the pics aren’t going anywhere on our pages lol 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is my journey. Sometimes it’s super rewarding, sometimes it’s super slow, sometimes it stands still, but it’s always mine and ever changing. Not all transformations are physical, some are emotional and spiritual too. Losing weight and getting healthy is such a mental Head game. It’s learning to have a healthy relationship with food, to make putting yourself a priority, to view the gym as a not a punishment for what you are but a celebration of what your body CAN do, and to realize a healthy life brings glory to God. I have had such a transformation in a year. This year has been rough but I truly feel the last three months will be epic and amazing. Hands down. My favorite part of weightloss is being able to wear clothes that I am comfortable in. At 300+ I wore whatever fit.
I still have things I'm not comfortable in that I am working towards (I'm coming for you tank tops!) but all in all my options for clothes have quadrupled!

I kept waiting for a time that ‘I was ready’ and the time just continued to pass and nothing changed. So when I finally decided to show up for myself a year ago, I was scared shitless but I knew I couldn’t stay where I was, physically or emotionally. There has been victories, struggles, life lessons, and lots of support and I am grateful for them all because it has brought me to where I am today 💕 I still have big goals to crush so this is only the beginning!!!
