Daily Tip #3
Micro is short form for micromanaging and has to do with controling your units. Where macro is your economy, micro has to do with anything from moving your army to using abilities to using commands to control individual units. In lower leagues it is best to not put a heavy focus on microing individual units but focus on microing units that have abilities and making sure that you are using them during engagements. A example of this would be the protoss unit the sentry which has several different abilities ranging from decreasing damage from ranged units to hallucination or even setting up choke points with the force field ability. Some important commands keys that are worth learning are attack moving as well as hold position as this will help you better defend ramp position at your base.
Depending on which race you play it would be good to learn what units have special abilities and what each one does. To better control these units during the game I like to add them to a separate control group from my main force. This way during battles I can easily select that control group and use there abilities and move the units around without making my entire army move with them.
