I've had a lot of questions about the handrails that I'm making, so I thought I would quickly answer a few questions with this post.
I'm using @westsystemepoxy_ because it's a excellent reliable product that will last and give me the quality results I want. I'm using a 206 slow hardener, and I apply the epoxy with an epoxy roller. I cut down the standard 7" roller to 3", for this smaller work. The roller is meant to be used specifically with epoxy for a few reasons. It's made of a thin layer of foam so you're not wasting epoxy, it's solvent safe so it won't dissolve, and it applies the proper amount of material. DON'T use a standard paint roller from the hardware store, it will leave lint behind and be very frustrating. By using this technique I can apply glue quickly without being wasteful, there wasn't one drip on the bench, and I can coat both sides of pieces so I get a good bond.
I hope that answers a few questions, but if you have more, feel free to ask. #woodwork #woodworking #finewoodworking #teak #handrail #patio #finishcarpenter #epoxy #westsystemepoxy
