Today is the day of the Solar Eclipse!
Special Attention; Stop by the park for eclipse activities. We are expecting quite the crowd today! As we are anticipating a lot of visitors, and would like to be able to have as many people view the eclipse as possible, we will be handing out 1 pair of viewing glasses per group, starting at 1:30, while supplies last. The eclipse will be starting at 1:30 and ending at 4:00. Within this 2 and a half hour event, there will be about a 10 minute peak time where 70% of the sun will be covered by the moon. During this time, people will pass glasses around among family and friends. As the sun will still appear very bright in the glasses., viewing should be limited to short spurts of time through the glasses. One pair per group of people leaves lots of time for each person in every party to enjoy this amazing event! Glasses must be worn to look at the sun at any time, from the start of the eclipse to the time it ends, and beyond. So we hope you stop by to enjoy our programming.
