RUSTICHELLA D'ABRUZZO PASTA.
The pasta brand Rustichella D'Abruzzo originated in Penne, Abruzzo, in 1924 under the name PASTIFICIO GAETANO SERGIACOMO. It is one of the most luscious pastas I've ever had. Several of the factors that make it so include... Extrusion through short lived and very expensive bronze dies rather than less expensive and long lasting Teflon. This results in the grooves in the pasta retaining their integrity during cooking, to allow them to better hold sauce.
Longer and low temperature drying to prevent caramelizing. The pasta retains a pleasant color and texture.
Ingredients surpass the standards set under Italian law.
The end result, a far superior pasta. FORZA RUSTICHELLA D'ABRUZZO!! Their pasta is available in organic gluten-free and quick cooking varieties.
I fondly remember the day at Murray's when la famiglia visited us. One of the gorgeous granddaughters saw my signature Italian flag in back of my hat. One thing led to another, and together we proudly serenaded the shop with the Italian National Anthem...FRATELLI D'ITALIA. It was also quite an honor to meet the three generations of beautiful Italian women...Nonna, Mama, and Daughters.
