Rescue stories with a happy endings are the best. But also to conscientize people about the importance of adoption, the beginnings have to be told. This TBT is dedicated to Yeyush. This is Yeyush's first photo the day he was rescued - on his way to freedom; on his way to me! As a puppy mill survivor, I wrote this in his honor the first time I saw him:
I am not alone anymore. I am not alone anymore, even though I was surrounded by people, I spent all of my days and nights in solitude. I no longer see a cage, now my space is unlimited. I am free. I can walk, run, feel the wind on my face. It is strange, the hand that gets close to my body doesn’t do any harm. It does not hurt, I no longer suffer. I’m afraid, yes, it is strange. I feel that same hand caressing my body so softly. Could it be.... what they call LOVE?
I still get scared because it is something new. I am not hungry, cold or feel lonely anymore. I do not feel the chains nor I see a cage. I feel an immense peace around me. The tears, pain and sadness no longer exist. I am happy, I am loved! I do not hear shouts anymore, only a whisper that tells me - “I LOVE YOU!" Dear friends, consider Adoption as your first option. Thank you Maggie, Lori, Cathy, Tatiana, Jennifer, Nancy and all our friends at @haarescue for saving so many lives. We ❤ you.
