Hello lovelings - it is time for a rather late Family Friday.
I really love this picture, that Betta has found for today’s Family Friday. .
Disappointment - true, sincere and deeply felt disappointment. Can you see it? It is the way his shoulders are pressed forward and downward 💖
He probably asked for something that he couldn’t have. As parents we quickly learn to know our childrens bodylanguage. And sometimes it is really hard to stay grounded, because the pain our children feel, seems so unbearable and we just want to lift that unfair heavy burden off their shoulders. But we can’t. And we shouldn’t. Our kids have their own path in life and we, as parents, need to understand that. We need to stay focused and be supportive. Children can manage disappointments. What they cannot manage is their parents’ guilt. So we have to stay clear about our answers. If you say no, then mean it! And let your child live through the feeling of the sorrow the no causes. It is healthy for a child to learn to cope with all different kind of feelings. They have to learn that it goes away again. But if you try to fix them or place guilt with it, then it is not healthy. So be aware. We all survived our childhood, and so will they. Love and support is the answer here.
