CHAPTER -9 - PART 2- ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
And then it hit her , like a brick falling on her head. She remembered reading in a magazine that this forest was home to unearthly spirits and the like. And this sure as hell looked like a ghost.... And only ghosts can utter ethereal , strangling noises and make you lose all hope of tomorrow.
She had not taken the article seriously and dismissed the claims of the campers who wrote that article. But now it seemed all the more apparent that they were right .
Oh no , what have I gotten myself into , thought Léa. All the while the shadow seemed to be moving closer , never once faltering in it's steps and the high pitched sounds moved closer ..... The rain didn't look like it would stop anytime soon neither was the screaming and wailing and instinct told her to get out of the woods as soon as possible. She ran back to the huge tree avoiding slipping in the pools of water and grabbed her backpack and put it on. She then jogged straight ahead , eyes on the slope.
The rain still beat down relentlessly in the woods and now the water was slowly beginning to reach her ankles. The roots of the trees could no longer hold anymore of the rain water. The slope was gooey and mushy and the higher Léa climbed the more her feet sank into the earth and the more arduous was the task of getting to the banks of the lake. Thankfully , this slope had a scanty collection of trees.
A noise was heard as if a volcano was beginning to erupt . There was a low, heavy and continuous sound. Léa turned and saw to her disbelief that the slope she was previously standing on with the huge tree was slowly crumbling , bringing down with it the huge tree itself and the other neighbouring trees. Crunching , snapping noises issued from the trees as they were now becoming level with the ground. Sand flew everywhere , so did the leaves and barks and branches.
