Every year at this time the Venetians (and I with them) are waiting for the Redentore day, to celebrate the building of the Redentore 's Church and the end of the plague (1575 - 1577) that in two years had reduced the population to less than a third. A votive boat bridge is set up, connecting the Giudecca island to the Zattere bank, and everyone awaits the wonderful fireworks on the water by eating on the boats or on the banks that allow to enjoy the spectacle on the San Marco basin. A wonderful and joyfull summer prelude. That is why this year I dedicate to the Redentore day the new "Venice in a box" painting and a limited edition of colorful boat "mobiles". Would you like to come and enjoy the celebration?
