✨💫 FAREWELL CASSINI ✨💫
Made some mystical space magic because I’m so sad the Saturn probe, Cassini, is gone! I have a small obsession with Saturn. It’s just such an interesting planet, with so many moons (62 with conformed orbits—the second most in the solar system to Jupiter’s 63), and the rings are so mysterious and intriguing to me. A long time ago I started naming my electronic devices after Saturn and it’s moons. My iMac is Saturn, Titan is my laptop, Atlas is my external hard drive, Enceladus is my phone. Tethys, Iapetus, and Dione are all Bluetooth devices. They always make me happy, plus there are so many I won’t run out of names!
(Edit: Reposting because the photos disappeared the first time around for some reason?)
Background: You may have heard that the Cassini probe, which has been collecting data and photos of Saturn for more than 13 years, plunged to its certain demise in Saturn’s upper atmosphere last Friday. This was purposeful on NASA’s part, so that it wouldn’t become floating space junk that could potentially crash into one of Saturn’s moons.
