The Airpolane Meal:
Chicken Breast with Ratatouille... - A relatively high protein option with some vegetables 🥒 to provide prebiotic fiber to my gut flora and a micro-dose of micronutrients that have been greatly lacking as I have been relying on butter and fat bombs while travelling.
...and Polenta - While Polenta is considered a relatively healthy Gluten Free alternative in some circles, it is a high carbohydrate food bound to kick you straight out of ketosis and I beg the question, does anyone actually know what it is?
Crackers - I think we can all agree they were immediately off the menu
... and Monterrey Jack Cheese - That had a very small number of ingredients, was listed to be cultured and a great source of dietary fat 🧀 So this was chomped on for dessert.
Caesar Dressing - With Soybean Oil listed as the first ingredients on the label, I was very disappointed...
Brownie - Gluten listed as one of the first ingredients, followed by Sugars and Vegetable Oil...straight into the bin bag for this one 😷
Vegetable Oil Spread - Why? Oh Why? I had been so excited for my triple dose of Butter and was heartbroken to see a Soybean Oil alternative being served 😪
Green salad 🥗I was definitely not going to pass up any more veggies, and how amazing it felt to taste something FRESH! Well as fresh as airpolane food can be... It's safe to say this meal was rather disappointing from a ketogenic standpoint however my peers seemed to enjoy it...at least while they were awake. I see it as no coincidence that everyone around me who finished their meal was asleep soon after, while I sat up working and about 2 hours later felt hungry due to a lack of fat and enjoyed a dessert style @marigold PALEO bar Dark & Salty of course! My favourite... 🍫
