Day 4 of the #pageantgirlphotohallenge and the word is SHOES.
This is something that I probably hear the biggest misconception about - going to try & not rant now!! You do NOT have to wear a particular make, type or height of shoe in order to do well in a pageant. The most important things when choosing your shoes for a pageant are 1. You can comfortably walk in them and 2. They suit your outfit & don't detract from YOU.
I struggled to find pics where you could see my shoes. The main reason being, if you're wearing a long dress (even with a slit), you will only see a glimpse of them. When you're being judged, you don't want the shoes to detract from YOU, rather (in my opinion) you want the shoes to almost go unnoticed and for them to complement your outfit. That's why nude/silver/gold/very simple styles work so well in pageantry & are popular 👠 I look at these pics and don't even look at my shoes, and that's how I wanted it to be!
Nb. If you cannot walk in your shoes, this will stand out way more than anything else and it will go against you. My pageants don't have any height restrictions (and I actually mean that despite what people say - our winners are proof!) and for those that do, the judges & organisers will be able to see past a high pair of heels and will know your height. Just make sure you can walk well in them!
