When you are the only one on prep 😂😂😂 #tbt
In all seriousness though, when it comes to creating a sustainable, lifetime balance for yourself, you have to create a nutrition plan that is ENJOYABLE. I feel like we hear about fad diets and the latest marketing schemes on what we should or should not eat, that we forget that if we hate what we are doing, it's not going to stick. Yes, at times you are going to need to pass on foods that you have habitually chosen normally, but you aren't going to have to pass on it forever. It all comes down to balancing what you eat to align and fuel the goals YOU have for your life: - 🔷 Want more energy throughout the day? Look to add in some low glycemic foods with your diet. 🔷Want to lose a little weight? Calculate your maintenance calories and then slash 500 of them to create a deficit (in order to lose weight you need to place yourself into a temporary caloric deficit. Emphasis on temporary). 🔷 Want to add muscle? You will need to add a slight caloric surplus in order to give your body the fuel it needs to build mass.
And the list goes on and on. Notice I didn't mention what exact foods you need to take away or add in to your diet for a certain amount of time. It's because at the end of the day, for lifetime health a slice of pizza, cake, or brownie isnt going to cancel out all the hard work you've done.
My point is, don't think of food in these absolute 'yay' or 'nay' categories. Use it for what it's meant to be: fuel and fun :) #lizzilifts
