Slum Sociable rocked OAF last night on first leg of their tour. Surprise cover of Toploader went off!! Support by the old school peer Crooked Letter making a name for himself, and Teischa from Perth doing a cover of James Blake!
Ophelia and the red sun - I kept seeing that incredible red sun from Hurricane Ophelia on the 16th October. Cameras captured it as a whitish colour, but to the naked eye it was red and amazing. The illusion was caused by dust from the Sahara and pollution from fires in Portugal. #celebrateskies
The Promise diptych 75cm x 120cm. This painting has dominated my dining room for a few weeks while I resolved it, but I think it is now complete. Somebody famous (can’t remember who) said an artwork is complete just before you want to do one last thing!
The Promise (right panel 75cm x 60cm) diptych. Finished at last. For me the challenge in a diptych is for the panels to work individually as well as together. I have now integrated the little silver bars and feel they work well as a stylistic element.
The Promise - 30cm detail of a 75x120cm diptych. There are passages that are working well, (like this one) but on the whole this diptych still needs a lot of work/reworking. So hopefully you will see it in due course.
Shifting Colours, right hand panel of a diptych. This is the moment when the sun has dropped below the horizon, but it it still light - indeed it is only 9.00pm in Sweden and there is still a lot of blue.
Shifting Colours: left panel of diptych 75cm x 60cm. This diptych is designed so that it has two stand-alone panels - or the panels can be combined to make a double painting. I have added gold to make the viewer pause and take another look at the colours.
We were lucky to catch Brisbane artist @uvboi's latest release tour for his new EP ‘Returned Alone’ at one of our favourite Sydney venues, Oxford Art Factory last week. Click the link in our bio to read the review. Words and photography by @talica_t ✌🏼
Oasis was accepted for the Oxford Art Society Exhibition at St John the Evangelist Cloister Gallery, Iffley Road, Oxford OX41EH. I'm feeling so happy about having my piece selected! The exhibition is on until 1 October and has some lovely artworks. (I know because I saw all the artists delivering them)I
