“I know a lot of people didn’t grow up being outside. It is a world of unknown and a world of liberation that many have not had a chance to experience. I choose to get outside to inspire and to encourage more ladies to experience nature. I didn’t grow up like being in nature. I felt safe being inside where everything is familiar and the thought of being surrounded by bugs make me cringe. About 6 years ago, some of my friends took me on an easy hike. I was outside of my comfort zone and my “safe” environment. But I felt liberating. Slowly, I learned how to set up a tent by myself , I learned to know exactly what I need to pack for a car camping trip and for backpacking trips, and I learned to fall asleep with the sound of nature. And trust me, it is not an easy process. It takes courage and motivation. But trust me , nothing beats the moment when you look out and see miles and miles of tree lines and cliffs. You will feel free and you are at home finally.”
