Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy, David Hockney’s 1971 portrait of textile designer Celia Birtwell and her then husband, is in his retrospective at Tate Britain, which opens this week. Birtwell talks to Lauren Cochrane about the painting and her role as Hockney’s muse at theguardian.com/fashion or via our Instagram story 🎨 Above: British fashion designer Ossie Clark with Birtwell, in 1971. #PatrickProcktor's watercolour portrait of #JimiHendrix (1973), which sold at @christiesinc London last week for £17,500, against an estimated £5-8,000. This set an auction record for a watercolour by Procktor. The work is one of five Hendrix portraits made by the artist (of which one is a small oil painting). The two had met through their mutual friend, fashion designer #OssieClark.
