Ever seen a photo send a radiation of stories? Stories that are deep, complex, dark, beauty and connectivity. Here is our favourite shot of his photography which appears like it's stopping time

We asked him what photography means to him personally and He said "Photography is freezing of memory and moment in composition with self expression of reality. I love black and white pictures and portraits. I've never been to other parts of Oromia yet apart from Finfinne but I definitely plan to travel there and work on capturing faces in Oromia. One of my favorite photographer Ansel Adams says "You don't take a photography, you make it" and "A good photograph is knowing where to stand." I thought I would mention that... And one last thing I have a twin brother whose name is milki aberra @milki_a He also takes picture with me you guys check his work too. It might be interesting story.Just an idea.Thank you. "

"Beekaan malaanuu beeka wallaalaan itti himanuu hin beeku"

Do you know our women used to mix their speech with mammaaksa to express and justify the truth they were speaking. In that way wisdom is transferred and in some occasions shade is thrown

Feel free to translate the mammaaksaa to English on the comments

still inspired by the presentations these women gave at #OSA2017 "Gendered Suffering and the Saga of Siiqqee-Addooyyee Protection: The Lived Experience of Oromo Women and Girls in <so called> Ontario"
when ancestral knowledge meets the diasporic experience, truly humbled to have witnessed the culmination (one of many im sure) of this work. Was particularly moved by the way our cultural practices were so meaningfully incorporated into the research methodology and the way mental health was addressed. Also very worth noting that the research was done under the guidance of Addee Kuwee Kumsaa, her work being celebrated throughout the entirety of the conference. **if anybody knows these women pls tag them I don't have their Insta accounts.** #Oromowomen #oromostudiesassociation #Indigenousknowledge
