Growing up we had those "staple" family dinner recipes that were surefire hits in the Driggs home. My Mom would make this layered taco dish using corn chips, homemade chili, cheese, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and homemade salsa. We begged our Mom to make it all of the time! To this day, it is one of my kid's favorite family meals. It's also our tradition to eat it every summer while camping around the campfire. I was so excited to find that my favorite chip brand, Garden of Eatin', has come out with their own Organic Sea Salt Corn Chips. These chips are made with the simplest, high quality ingredients -- organic corn, organic canola oil, and sea salt. Each batch is made to order starting with organic corn kernels they cook and grind. You can taste the difference! You can find these chips in the natural food section at your local Fry's or Kroger retailer and they are exclusive to Kroger stores. I can't stop eating them. What is your least favorite gardening tool? We all have that one thing that doesn't work for us. Ours would be the hose, because we are constantly tripping over it. Although we recently bought a fancy sprinkler (not in the photo) so dragging the hose around is a lot more fun now. 😂😉 *

Who knew leaving butter in a hot car would turn it into soup? 😅😑 I opened it and it splat all over the floor of my airbnb 😭 These are my main and pretty much only travel essentials! I bring grassfed butter with me (I could also buy it once I land but I use it in the airport/in flight to make coffee...they think it's soap since it's in a soap dish!), pink sea salt, Brain Octane Oil, and upgraded coffee beans in a little jar. Enough for 3-4 days. I use the salt, butter, oil on my food since I'll be eating out everyday. I also bring a mini 8oz French Press to make my coffee, and I make sure my Airbnb hosts always have blenders. Too much you might be thinking? Not really, this all takes up very little space and most homes have blenders + feeling THIS good during flight/travel (especially if it's business related) is PRICELESS. What are your must-bring travel essentials? Let me know would love to try them out!

New research reveals that cinnamon powder (Ceylon) is effective at reducing symptoms of painful periods (primary dysmenorrhea) in college age students.

Published in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research and titled, “Comparative effect of cinnamon and Ibuprofen for treatment of primary dysmenorrhea: a randomized double-blind clinical trial,” Iranian researchers evaluated the effect of either 420 mg of cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), 400 mg of ibuprofen, or a starch placebo, in three groups of 38 females. Both pain intensity and duration were monitored in all groups, with the results reported as follows: “The mean pain severity score and mean duration of pain in Ibuprofen and Cinnamon were less than placebo group respectively (p< 0.001). Of 4 hours after the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences between the Cinnamon and placebo group (p> 0.05). Of eight hours after the intervention, the mean pain severity in the cinnamon group was significantly lower than the placebo group (p< 0.001). The researchers concluded: “Cinnamon can be regarded as a safe and effective treatment for primary dysmenorrhea. More researches are recommended to study the efficacy of Cinnamon on reducing menstrual bleeding.” -

Why do we consider cinnamon superior to ibuprofen? Considering the well-known dangers of ibuprofen, which is estimated to kill several thousand a year from its cardiovascular side effects alone, cinnamon’s potential role as a natural alternative to this drug is highly promising. Unlike #ibuprofen, using #cinnamon for pain doesn’t come with any cardiotoxic properties. To the contrary, it is known to have both blood pressure lowering and blood sugar lowering properties, both which may confer protection against cardiovascular disease. -

As far as the question of its role in menstrual bleeding addressed in the conclusion above, arecent randomized, double-blinded clinical trialfound that it actually reduced the severity of menstrual bleeding in women, making it a win-win as far as difficult or inconvenient #menstruation symptoms go.

Cran almond muffins! Of course from the #hotdetox cook 📖 these are so great for breakfast or for a dessert if you're craving some sort of pastry. These are made of hazelnut flour so they're grain free for all of my paleo friends or for people who try and limit their intake in 🌾. They also have organic cranberries sweetened with 🍎 juice! Spices include cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, etc, topped with sliced almonds! I've been having them for a pre workout snack with some almond butter on top and honestly these are one of the reasons why getting out of bed in the morning is fun ⛅️ Let's talk life.. I think it's so important to eat a diet that is filled with variety to ensure you're in taking lot's of different nutrients but also super satisfying. After a year of diving into the natural health world I've found a fun balance and can make and eat the most delicious foods while keeping lean without worrying about calories, as well as healing my body in the process!
