Good morning fellow metal fanatics. DESTRÖYER616 here with my top six most listened to artists of last week. With the time if year and the goings on in my life you can pretty much expect a lot of DSBM and atmospheric BM coming over the next few months. Now I don't know how many of you actually read this but I have very good taste in music (so, humble) and you could do a lot worse than listen to these bands.
The Obsessed were number one this week, when he's not being a doom/sludge metal/stoner rock pioneer as founding member of Saint Vitus Scott 'Wino' Weinrich is writing catchy riffs for The Obsessed a band he formed way back in 1980. They didn't release an album until 1990 after a handful of demos in the 80s. They have a new album, Sacred, that came out back in May I think. Go listen.
Rush, again. Rush are fucking amazing. Been listening to Grace Under Pressure an awful lot last week. Why wouldn't you?
Misfits, you know what you're getting here. Horror punk with a 50s rock n roll sensibility. I was listening to them whilst racing on Gran Turismo Sport. That's my story.
Orange Goblin are a British band that play stoner/doom metal and are very good at it. Think they're coming to Belfast soon, might see them.
Pillorian were a new find this week which is fucking disgraceful as it's John Haughm former vocalist and guitarist of the critically lauded Agalloch although I found their last album to be underwhelming. This is good but doesn't reach the heady heights of his previous band.
Uada are amazing, I love their album Devoid Of Light and can't get enough of them. If you haven't heard the album, you should.
