〰GOING GREEN〰 I have been thinking a lot lately about the environment 🌿🌏 The terrible amount of wastage we create and dump into landfill (thanks to ABCs "The War on Waste") and the amount of chemicals present in our house, from skincare to cleaning products. A lot of products mention they are "organic" and contain plant extracts etc, but once you look a bit closer you see there are actually chemicals in the ingredients, and the term organic doesn't really mean much. The companies claim that the level of chemicals they have placed in the products is deemed safe by them. But what happens when we combine loads of small amounts of chemicals from all the different products we use? Cosmetics, toothpastes, skincare, cleaning, fragrances, our drinking water, sprays on fruits and vegetables and in the meat? Who tests what happens when the chemicals are applied and ingested layer upon layer? 🤔
To be truly organic products must be "certified organic". What a world we live in that chemical filled products can be sold to us no problemo, but if someone wants to sell an organic product the burden is on them to prove it is in fact certified organic. The burden should be on the others, they should be required to be branded with a label "contains chemicals". It's time for us all to make an effort to become a little more environmentally responsible.
If we each just make a few small changes where we can, do a little more research on what we buy - what an amazing impact that would have on our planet and our future 🌍💚
