Re-setting up the house after renovations has been a much longer process than anticipated. Life, and work, and whatever gets in the way and you find the weeks slipping away too swiftly. Winter has been a great de-motivator (is that a word?). At least a good many of my books are accessible once more so I have something to occupy my chronic insomnia. The garage is still bedlam & heaven knows when I'll get the gym set up properly..... I don't want to think about it, frankly. But my Spring task is to run head-long into the rest of the job and just get it done at last. Wish me luck!

One of the most powerful books I've read on alternative medicine. This one explores the ancient wisdom of Amazonian shamans. Their traditions and their plant based medicines that work on the soul body to heal the physical one. Filled with native wisdom and replete with beautiful personal journeys of recovering patients, this one I found hard to put down. Im not sure what it's like where you are but here #inlondon the weather is perfect for a #comfy arm chair a #cupoftea or #glassofwine, warm blanket and a #goodbook. It would be perfect but unfortunately I don't have time for that.
I wish you all a relaxing and nice evening with or without a book 📚

Nie wiem jak u was ale w Londynie pogoda idealna by zasiąść w wygodnym fotelu z kubkiem gorącej herbaty lub lampką wina, cieplym kocem i dobrą książką. Byłoby idealnie niestety mi brakuje na to czasu.
Życzę wam odprężającego, miłego wieczoru z książką (lub bez)📚

I won a copy of Under the Udala Trees by Chinelo Okparanta in their #giveaway

This book has been on my #goodreadstbr for months now.
About the book:
Inspired by Nigeria's folktales and its war, Under the Udala Trees is a deeply searching, powerful debut about the dangers of living and loving openly.

Ijeoma comes of age as her nation does; born before independence, she is eleven when civil war breaks out in the young republic of Nigeria. Sent away to safety, she meets another displaced child and they, star-crossed, fall in love. They are from different ethnic communities. They are also both girls.
When their love is discovered, Ijeoma learns that she will have to hide this part of herself. But there is a cost to living inside a lie. (Summary from Goodreads).

Feeding the mind this time around with a recommendation from my boss’ boss. A great guy and so far, a great read. #StartWithWhy 📚

It’s been a very humbling experience to transition from team leader (clinical) to team member in a different field (sales), but I am excited for a challenge and savoring every learning opportunity. 💪🏾🔑

Reminding everyone (including me!) today: resiliency is key.💡Toe the line of seeking challenge and establishing limits. ⚖️And most importantly, practice self-care through it all.💆🏾‍♀️

Loved my time with Eleanor. Enjoyed the story and the surprise at the end. A good reminder to be kind to others in our lives and that we just may never know what a person has endured. Time for hosting book club soon! Paradox Bound. It’s a pretty good read. A little light on the sci for a “sci-fi”. I enjoyed The Fold more but this was good story with good characters that got better toward the end. Nice light reading.

A very Happy cardmaking to all my lovely friends! Thank you for inspiring and encouraging me, had it not been you, I might not have fallen in love with this hobby. Sorry for the delay, I was so busy crafting, I missed wishing. (Psstt.. Diwali themed cards will be shared soon).
Continuing playing with my new possessions, these cuties from @gerdasteinerdesigns got some love.

@jessicahonegger goes on to say: “Layer upon layer of protection means we stay unbroken right through to the end.” Friends, I just started #imperfectcourage and it speaks volumes to me and to the work I do with all of you. It is SO tempting to stay safe in the cushy space of our comfort zone, but what do we know about this space of no movement? We start to disappear. We lose hope. We lose our worthiness. We begin to actually believe that goals and dreams and feeling truly alive just isn’t for us and what’s the opposite of that? I’m here to tell you, you have it in you. You ARE worthy and you ABSOLUTELY CAN find a way to whatever it is. It won’t be easy, but it will make you come alive in ways you never imagined. Fiercely aware of what you’re after and working toward it. Turn your eyes inward friend. It starts here. What do you want? What are you longing for? You were made for more than what’s in your comfort zone. And what I know about my comfort zone is that when I get out of it - into the unknown and LOOK AT the unknown - it becomes known. Simple as that. But you will never know it if you don’t take a look. Take a peek, go on. Dip your toes in.

So so so excited to be receiving this from the wonderful team at @csmvsmumbai !! Big shout out to the Museum for the 10th Anniversary of their awesome newsletter. May the museum continue to engage and inspire its community of visitors - especially the growing number of young ones! More than anything, love that there’s a beautiful documentation of the #IndiaAndTheWorld Exhibition giving a glimpse into what went behind the awesomeness we all saw and celebrating those who made this exhibit a blockbuster one.
Another thing am really waiting for is the Children’s Museum. Refreshing ideas + a very cool team is the formula of CSMVS’ success!
Today, museums are more accessible than ever, and in these little things, our experience of the museum becomes so much more personal.
I’ve always told young, aspiring museum professionals that exhibits are like Movies - and we ought to market them with the same enthusiasm. This book just told me that museum exhibits go way beyond 😉 More on this real soon! .

When I snuggled in bed with Sashin last week to read him a bedtime story (after his dad finished reading to him), he snuck out this book from under the covers and said:
“I saved the best book for you, to read.”.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
This is why I love children’s books. The power of books that open our imagination! .
"I am a child of books.
I come from a world of stories...
And upon my imagination I float.
I have sailed across a sea of words to ask if you will come away with me."

Spier, Peter: Menschen, K. Thienemanns Verlag Stuttgart, 1981
