One of the most exciting, and unexpected, themes for me in 2016 was getting a glimpse into what goes into product design. Early this year I took a prototype pair of @onlywhatsnecessary FR-01s to Chile for about 10x more thrashing than an average user might be able to do in 2.5 months. (Carrying a bike up mountains is really hard on shoes.) We successfully identified some failure modes and it also made a strong case for the utility of this modular shoe design for bikepacking. Sure is amazing to pull liners out for easy drying and to cross creeks in just the impermeable outers.
Looking forward to much more thinking about product designs in 2017 and to having a blast on flat pedals with the smartest riding shoes out there. Thanks @onlywhatsnecessary !
