For those who don't know - most of you do - I am extremely passionate about music. I feel I connect to music on a level a lot of people never get to experience because the understanding isn't fully there. All my Snapchat followers have seen my karaoke sessions 😂 I enjoy a VERY broad variety of music, mostly thanks to my older brother @flyhigh_creative because he'd always teach me Tupac and Biggie while my dad was showing me Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. (Who can relate? 🙋🏻) Music is probably about 30% of the reason I was able to get through my prep for as long as I did. Once my headphones are on at the gym, I'm fully in my zone. I'm more fascinated by lyrics than anything, the fact that another person can express themselves perfectly in ways you could never put together. Idk, maybe I'm crazy... What you don’t see in this picture is what it truly takes to get to this point of prep. I remember, the days when you just wanna quit, the hours of cardio, the hunger, the sleepless nights, getting mad about the littlest things, the don’t give a fuck attitude (I have then when I’m off prep too.. haha). TBH I miss these days. I was focused on a goal. I still train hard and eat clean 95% of the time, I just eat a lot of food now😂 but without a show date ahead I feel lost. I have other distractions, but when I go to the gym I just want to be here again. I will when the time is right and when I’m more mentally stable to do so. But for now, I’m enjoying other hobbies and staying healthy (and fluffy) AF. •

Ladies who have competed and are struggling to adjust back into life post comp know that it is ok to put a healthy amount of body fat back on, in fact it is encouraged as it is healthy & optimal for muscle growth. ⠀

I’ve been competing since 2010 and I’m well aware of the body shame struggle as you see your body changing away from the shredded rig you worked hard for. And I’m here to tell you YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR SET OF ABS. I speak strongly about this as my amazing man helped me see this about myself too and it changed my life. ⠀

Don’t sell yourself short of your own happiness because your body is adjusting back into a normal healthy shape; embrace it! To even compete is a powerful accomplishment.. it ain’t easy what we do to reach the stage so be proud!⠀

Tomorrow I want you to do this: instead of going to the gym because you are trying to loose body fat 👉🏼 go to the gym & crush your workout because you it makes you feel great about yourself & empowers you! 💡 This is why we started lifting in the first place right?!⠀

To take your body to the next level you need energy to train hard and grow your muscles; you won’t achieve that if you are still chasing your competition body.⠀

Remember, bodybuilding is all about peaking condition for that 1x day... no one ever said the conditioning should be sustained longer than that. ⠀

Again: body fat does not define you! Focus on health (mind, body & nutrition) and you will organically find your healthy maintenance body.⠀
Learn to embrace yourself through all chapters of your journey.⠀

🔹Crammed in an Upper session yesterday and it felt amazing yesterday! Started off with 10v10 on the incline Smith, followed by standing alternating overhead presses 4x12, then ending with 4x12-15 Larry presses.
🔹So yeah, just three exercises but the pump was real. Been real busy with work lately and getting phase II of my website out in time for this weekend. Looking deeeecent right now👍🏼
🔹8AM now so I’m off to work, talk to clients, and get website stuff done. Then, Squats! Last week went well, today should be even better. Hitting 315s for 5s and see how everything feels 😄.
