I've been reflecting on the week today and really just kept coming back to how grateful I have felt every single day. I have so many things to be thankful for but I've been especially grateful for the women in my Business Building Tribe. These are true Boss Babes!
There are so many freaking amazing women in this group. Some of them already have businesses, others of us really don't know how to put action to our vision yet. Each one has a heart unlike anything I've seen before. They LIVE with passion for those around them and for what they're doing. At their core, they just desire to help people live life to their fullest potential in some form or fashion. One wants to open a plant nursery, another a center for children after school or during the summers, another wants to help mentor young women about their health and wellness, the list goes on. But the one thing I've learned is how many women have a heart for others and how much support, kindness, and love there is still out there in the world.
It's easy to get discouraged by all the negative images we see on the media or see in the world around us on a daily basis, but these women are going to CHANGE THE WORLD. I'm just grateful to be a part of it. Grateful to watch them grow and learn. Grateful to have their support as I let go of fear and begin working toward something I am so incredibly passionate about.

Love Indian food? So do we! Today let’s talk about the benefits of Turmeric and a new study that'll SHOCK you:
Curcumin, which is found in Turmeric, is a popular ingredient in Indian food. It’s what gives curry its bright orange color. A recent study by UCLA showed that daily consumption of a certain form of curcumin “improved the memory and mood in people with mild, age-related memory loss.” This is HUGE! Why? Well one, because the improvements in memory and mood weren’t small they were “significant” and two because this was not another correlative study or animal study, this was double blind and placebo controlled! That means it really works and it works on a system of the body which is usually very hard to live fix. Just when we thought Turmeric couldn't get any better, another groundbreaking study blows us away. Once you start to review the research as we have you end up asking yourself Is there any thing that tumeric root can’t do? .
Previous studies have shown that curcumin supports blood flow and has powerful antioxidant properties. The exact effects aren’t certain, speculated with the following: “Exactly how curcumin exerts its effects is not certain, but it may be due to its ability to reduce brain inflammation, which has been linked to both Alzheimer’s disease and major depression,” said Dr. Gary Small, director of geriatric psychiatry at UCLA’s Longevity Center and of the geriatric psychiatry division at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA, and the study’s first author.

Senior citizens in India have lower prevalence of Alzheimer’s and typically better cognitive performance, so there must be something to this study! Now look up your favorite Indian restaurant, and enjoy some curry!

I sat here staring at this blank page for what feels like forever, just trying to figure out how to even start to say the things I want to say. 🗒

I have anxiety. Most of the time it rears it's ugly head in social situations. A room full of people makes my heart feel like it's going to come out of my chest. Anxiety doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care what's logical and what's not.
When I first started going to the gym, I had to fight the anxiety every single time I walked in the front door. I still do sometimes. Often, if I'm being completely open and honest. I'm afraid I won't do enough, won't do things correctly, or embarrass myself in some way. For some reason I feel like I won't fit in. In reality, who says there's a standard for being in the gym? What sense does that even make?
There's this really cool thing about working out though, you get a flood of endorphins and you feel empowered when you're done. You push through that irrational fear, you dig deep, you get in your zone and you just do it. You run, you lift, you walk the stairs, you do whatever it is that you set out to do and you own it! Your body is capable of so much more than your mind wants to allow you to believe.
YOU are capable of so much more than you believe. I challenge you to come up with just one step you can take over the next few days to empower yourself. It doesn't have to be a physical task. What are you so afraid of? What is holding you back? What's that one nagging thing in the back of your mind that you know you just need to step out and do? 💕

Throwback Thursday to the 1950s when ads claimed there was no medical evidence that cigarettes were bad for your health!

Here we actually have a doctor who is telling us to smoke a cigarette, which is pretty darn absurd.
Fortunately, we live in an era that doesn’t allow cigarette ads to make such outrageous claims, but we are still being blasted with propaganda from all kinds of companies telling us what is and isn't good for our health. I’m not going to tell you that cigarettes are bad for your health because that is obvious, but just be aware of what you are being told about your health in the form of advertisements.

Every day there is always a new miracle drug or a miracle cure that's supposed to turn you into a miracle person. Obviously, if you have a serious medical condition, then you need to see a doctor and take medication. But most of the time you shouldn’t put unnatural substances in your body. Supplementing a proper, balanced diet with healthy and natural vitamins, herbs, and minerals is the best way to live your best self!
