Today I tested out @soapandglory One Heck of a Blot Instant-Perfecting Power Primer (normally $14 for one (1) ounce, but on sale for $9.60 at @walgreens). Since @caseyhl91 and I have similar oily skin issues, I knew that when she recommended it that it was something I should try!
What it claims:
🔘 Pore-Shrink Technology instantly diminishes the appearance of pores
🔘 12-hour Matte Spheres for all-day shine control
🔘 Helps hide imperfections, even our skin tone and reduce the appearance of redness
🔘 I applied the product onto my nose, sides of my nose, chin and forehead - all places where I get oily and have prominent pores.
👍🏻 The texture was really nice.
👍🏻 It filled in my pores well.
👎🏻 It did nothing for my redness.
👍🏻👎🏻 I don’t know if it’s the primer or the BBL Treatment I had done with @amychapmanskincare at @nessplasticsurgery yesterday, but my skin looks SO smooth! Since I can’t pinpoint the source of my good skin and makeup day, I won’t give it a full thumbs up.
👍🏻 I would say that I have gotten just as oily, maybe a little less, than I do when I use my more expensive mattifying primers. So, since it’s MUCH cheaper than those, it’s a ✅ for that claim.
👍🏻👎🏻 The bottle also says that you can continue to apply it throughout the day to “touch-up.” I reluctantly tried that and, although it did reduce the oily appearance on my nose, it also removed a little bit of foundation. However, I think if you applied a little first to a sponge and then dabbed it where you were shiny, it would work well.
While it may not have lived up to its impressive claims, I would say it’s a pretty darn good primer! I’ll continue to use it with other foundations to see if it looks just as beautiful as it does today, but for now, I’d say it’s a winner!
Have you tried this primer? If yes, what are your thoughts on it?
