Tight back and neck muscles? 😣

Why not try cupping therapy, a Traditional Chinese Medicine ☯️ modality, used for thousands of years in Asia. In recent years, cupping has gained recognition and popularity in the Western world with athletes like Michael Phelps 🏊🏼‍♂️ sporting circular cupping marks during the 2016 Olympic Games.

Cupping therapy also known as ‘fire cupping’ involves the application of glass or silicone cups to the skin which creates pressure that sucks the skin and muscle tissue into the cup. This suction draws blood to the target area increasing systemic #circulation to relieve muscle tension, reduce #inflammation and stop pain.

Cupping is generally used to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain, which is often a physical manifestation of #stress. Stress frequently manifests in posture and #alignment and hunching over desks, computers, and phones which results in a build-up of muscle tension that can manifest as physical pain. Cupping helps reduce this pain, and coupled with acupuncture, is an effective remedy for stress.

Two years ago today, I stood next to Ryan Lochte in Rio and watched him get a hot towel shave before our interview. Everything in this job is always so extra.

Soft tissue work! Love it or hate it! Sometimes it’s the.... hurt so good kind of pain 😳

What if you approached achieving your dreams the way an Olympic athlete trains? What if you were building a fire, training everyday to become the strongest version of yourself...rather than slogging or hustling through endless to-do’s and hours of busy work, not sure if any of it is even working?
Professional and elite athletes know nothing can be left to chance, especially not the attention, discipline, and coaching cultivating the extraordinarily healthy and strong mind, body and spirit achieving their dreams requires. Whether you are an artist or an athlete, an Olympian or an entrepreneur, someone just starting out in their first career or someone looking to write a brand new chapter in life, I can help you with the art and the science of building your dreams. My genius is helping you to unleash yours. I’m currently interviewing applicants for my September group coaching program and would love to see if this program is the right fit to support you in feeling and seeing real results before the end of 2018. Please DM or email me at leah@leahcb.com for more info! I’d love to help you pour fuel on the fire! 🔥🔥🔥 (quote courtesy of badass woman Mia Hamm, photo of me courtesy of my son Elijah!) .

When in Calgary... we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a run down the ‘88 Olympic bobsled track. Our driver, Canadian Olympic bobsled team member Christine de Bruin expertly navigated the track and was a wonderful advocate for her sport, patiently answering our million questions. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience and a great start to our day in Calgary (once we find some ibuprofen! The amount of head knocking against the sled rim was surprisingly jarring). Christine spends 24 hours a week sprint training - in the summer! According to her, success in the sport depends on the push off, the equipment and steering skill. Bobsleds cost between $40k-$100k! We’ll definitely be rooting for her in the next Olympics!

🔊 "It's not just about Nigerians. It's not just about Africans. Its about being able to utilize every single ounce of what it is you represent. Whether it's as a woman. Whether it's just as an African American. Or someone of dark color. Or some type of minority, or whatever, whatever it is that you represent is what we are trying to represent". - @seun_msamazing
🎖 She's an Olympic athlete and record holder, who is the former 100m hurdles Nigerian and African Champion - this week on the NDINI podcast we're talking to Seun Adigun, the first African to ever compete at both the summer and winter Olympic games!
🎖 Seun and her team mates @akuomaomeoga and @ngozi.onwumere made history at the 2018 winter Olympics in Korea as the first team to ever represent Nigeria at a winter Olympics. This was despite the team having been formed less than two years earlier!
🎖 But before she was bobsledder, she was a 100m Olympic hurdler, who competed at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Leading up to the Olympics, Seun was in what she describes as the best shape of her life. But she developed a stress fracture in her leg shortly before the Olympic games. Doctors advised her against competing, fearing that her leg would break. But Seun wasn't willing to let her many years of training go to waste, and she competed against her doctor's advice. But sheer will wasn’t enough - the games ended with her most disappointing competitive performance ever.
🎖 It was while Seun was recovering from her injury and thinking about what to do next that she tried bobsledding for the first time!

Do you ever struggle asking for help when you are stuck? Or you think you can do it yourself because you don’t need any help?

If this sounds like you, I can definitely relate! Asking for help when you are struggling is becoming such a big issue that needs to be tackled! It’s ok to be stuck or struggling but what’s even more ok is to ask for help! ~

My Ego played a big role in this for me, asking for help meant I was weak, it took my masculinity away from me admitting defeat, I wasn’t smart enough or I thought I knew better. Does any of this sound familiar? ~

This year has been a massive year of change, again I’ve been growing so much, and this was one of the biggest things I’ve learnt;
When you can control your ego, put it to the side, step forward and ask for advice, not only do you make huge room for improvement you open yourself up for so much more love and support. ~

I am so grateful that I did that this year as it has deepened and strengthened my relationship with these two beautiful humans! Their guidance and support this year has been phenomenal and I wouldn’t be where I am today with out it. ~

So I challenge you to do the same, if this resonates with you grab hold of that ego and control it, start looking for people who want to help you through your struggles because I guarantee they aren’t far away and even more so will love to help you! Ask for some help and see what comes from it!
